No wonder we have challenges in our schools: Teachers must stick to the sanitized text books that rarely spur independent thought about issues in the real world. Please FB/post a link to the "controversial" SEED article that the teacher was suspended for presenting.

as an academic institution this type of material should be the norm. It is important to remove or bypass social stigmas so that factual evidence is left as the primary basis for any ideological outlook. I support this teacher's decision to integrate Seed Magazine in his class!!!!

Rather careless on the teacher's part. Parents can be very sensitive and it's part of his job to make sure that they stay happy. He could have easily done this through proper channel with parent permission forms. Suspension as a consequence was a bit severe -- a warning would have sufficed.
