As part of an ongoing effort to integrate social media into the Conservation of Coldwater Fisheries in Georgia, UCCTU 'Fans' will stay updated on Conservation projects, Youth and adult education opportunities, local Advocacy issues, and Fishing activities.

Upper Chattahoochee Trout Unlimited (UCCTU) is one of the oldest, largest and most active chapters in Georgia. A group of conservation minded anglers, UCCTU is centered in Roswell, GA with members ranging from Marietta to Duluth and Atlanta to Cumming. We meet January... through October on the 4th Tuesday and again in early December for a banquet and auction. Conservation projects are scheduled throughout the year to conserve, protect and restore Georgia’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. UCCTU sponsors a youth fly fishing clinic each spring, supports Georgia Trout Unlimited’s summer Trout Camp and teaches the Boy Scout Fly Fishing Merit Badge throughout the year. As advocates, we engage local, state and federal legislators and agency officials in coldwater fisheries management. Each month we meet to fish locally as well as travelling in the spring and fall to a regional destination.

Trout Unlimited TU's Sportsmen's Conservation Project visited a proposed wilderness area in southwest Montana recently, fly rods in hands. Check out the results, and learn a bit about Sen. Jon Tester's Forest Jobs and Recreation Act, which would create Montana's first new wilderness in a generation.

Trout Unlimited's Sportsmen's Conservation Project works to help pass the Forest Jobs and Recreation Act, which would protect some of the best fish and wildlife habitat--and the hunting and fishing opportunities they offer--left in Montana.
Trout Unlimited

Trout Unlimited TU's Sportsmen's Conservation Project examines some of the challenges that would accompany drilling the Roan Plateau in western Colorado. Is it worth sacrificing native trout and irreplacable big game habitat to drill in an oasis of industrial natural gas development? You be the judge.

This is obviously a tough issue: energy vs. habitat. I do hate to see habitat destroyed.

Nothing tough about it, we need to be investing in solar energy so we don't have to tear up our environment. People forget anything bad for fish and animals is bad for humans too. If they can't get the gas without harming the environment then they can't have it. Simple enough.

The same issue is on the table in the Appalachia region over the Marcellus Shell.I say absolutely not.Lets search out an alternative and leave what little beautiful country that is left, alone.Tell these gas companies to go to......well you know what I mean.Save our rivers and streams.Get on board with Trout Unlimited. They do a wonderful job preserving our rivers and streams.
