The name may have changed, but it’s still the same great contest! The PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest begins January 2010, and will carry on the tradition that began over 15 years ago with the READING RAINBOW Young Writers and Illustrators Contest.

Helicopter rides into the Grand Canyon, nothing in words can capture the thrill. Dozen of donkeys living on scrub brush, you couldn't see till you get into the canyon base. They were left there by guys looking to strike it rich and then left behind with their dreams. Heading back chasing a lightening storm across the terrain as we skirted the edge enough to stay safe.

This will be superb I am sure. Perhaps this powerful statement by Ken Burns, illustrating the concept of something protected by the government, where freedom to do anything but harm reigns, for the benefit of all...perhaps seeing this concept in action can refresh and inform our current national "conversation" on universal healthcare. Thank you once again for helping make the tag line "Democracy demands wisdom" a visible reality.
