Now celebrating its 10th season, ChildrenSong of New Jersey has added additional challenges to its repertoire in time for the holiday season.

Ceremony of Carols for Children’s Choir
ChildrenSong of New Jersey, a non-profit children’s chorus based in Haddonfield, celebrates its 10th Anniversary season with its winter concert, Ceremony of Carols featuring selections from Benjamin Britten's “A Ceremony of Carols” written for treble voices and harp. Concerts wi...ll take place Saturday, December 5 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church (230 N. Evergreen Avenue, Woodbury) at 7pm and Sunday, December 6 at Christ the King Church (200 Windsor Avenue, Haddonfield) at 3pm. Maryanne Meyer, principal harpist of Symphony in C, will accompany the work. Other selections include delightful seasonal favorites and upbeat spirituals such as Let It Snow and Born, Born in Bethlehem, including a medley of Christmas carols. Another highlight will include the singing of Brant Adam’s Torah Orah, accompanied by Will Amsel, principal clarinetist of the Princeton Symphony and Nicholas Watts, piano. ChildrenSong of New Jersey enriches the vocal music education of seventy-five children in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties within its current three choir program taught by Artistic Director Polly Murray and Vocal Coach Patricia Januszewski. Tickets are $15 at the door or $12 in advance for adults. Seniors and students are $10 and children 11 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.childrensong.org or reserved by calling 856-216-1140.

ChildrenSong of New Jersey presents its 9th annual Spring Concert "Sing and Rejoice!" on June 6 and June 7, 2009. The concert features jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and spirituals by Aaron Copland, Moses Hogan, Irving Berlin and others, sung by the ChildrenSong choirs. Gu...est artist Michael Trotta will conduct his 2009 work "When I Sing to Make You Dance", commissioned by ChildrenSong and written for ChildrenSong’s changed voices ensemble, Cantate Singers.
