As Dean Richardson said in his remarks, "Teaching is the essential purpose of the OHSU School of Medicine. Most of our faculty members could practice medicine or conduct research in non-educational s...ettings, but don’t; we all choose to be here."

OHSU School of Medicine Read about OHSU School of Medicine MD Program student John Heineman, as he prepares to compete in the 2009 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii on October 10. For those not in the know, that's 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of bike riding and 26.2 miles of running!

John Heineman currently serves as president of the Class of 2012. He is enrolled in the challenging M.D./M.P.H. dual degree program. But this accomplished young man is used to challenges.
