Could be very interesting having parents and students and classrooms all on the same Facebook page - I'm not sure FB is the right tool in which to conduct class assignments or interact with parents. Maybe Ning or some other FB variant in which folks aren't putting too many personal and potentially incriminating things out there...

I use DI and technology with the use of rubrics and anchor lessons. Students can earn more point for doing more. Instead of listing 2 sources they list 5. For presentations they complete 5 sldes instead of 10. Also I allow for them to colllaberate and communicate via discussion boards and monitored e-mail accounts. Students are given choices and boundries to construct new meaning and understanding with in the framework I provide.

It's a tough transition, but I'm starting to enjoy e-books. They're so convenient to access and I love having the ability to choose what I want to read no matter where I am. I like the search feature. Knowing where I am in the book is a little difficult.
