Chris Dodd's 11th hour change of heart. Wait, maybe he didn't have as much to do with the "Bankruptcy Bill" as our MSM news media reported?

Public Citizen What happened to single-payer in the Senate, and what happens now: http://bit.ly/5kNAaa #hrc #singlepayer

bit.ly
There was no Senate vote on the single-payer health care amendment on the floor December 16, thanks to the parliamentary obstruction of amendments by Republican senators in their battle to prevent any and all health care reform this year.

Mr. Rectenwald could not have said it better. We must overturn Santa Clara County vs. Southern Pacific Railroad Company. Get Corporate money out of politics. Period.

Public Citizen Did you trade your clunker in last summer? Did you get any cash for the "scrap value" of your car?
http://citizenvox.org/2010/01/04/clunkers-deals-bilked-consumers-out-of-residual-value/

citizenvox.org
The summer of 2009 will, for me, be the Summer of Clunkers. The federal government’s “cash for clunkers” program, which allowed consumers to trade in an old gas-guzzling car for a somewhat less gas-guzzling replacement, had its problems. ...

Well, I figured the government had more than just environmental reasons... the scrap money helped the businesses, and if the general population doesn't read the small print... wouldn't be possible if the applications wasn't 136 pages long. That's ridiculous.

Public Citizen More than 125,500 tell Chamber of Commerce: Stop protecting rapists!

citizenvox.org
That’s right, more than 125,500 signed our petition to demand an end to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s lobbying against Sen. Franken’s (D-Minn.) amendment to bar defense contractors like Halliburton/KBR from forcing employees with sexual assault and discrimination claims into arbitration.

Question -- how can the Chamber of Commerce some of whose members participated in the rape of our economy wield any moral authority to tell other corporate entities to stop raping? Just wondering.

As Rapist supporters and collaborators of Criminal Behavior. The U.S.Chamber of Commerce has shown their right wing Amoral Values. These are the same people who believe slavery should be permitted within any business profile.

Can you imagine such a entity has lowered themselves to supporting and harboring Rapist and Slavery as their value system. You thought socialism was bad! Just wait till their business model becomes reality!

Public Citizen WE DID IT! Victory in the House for Wall Street reform! The Consumer Financial Protection Agency made it through, now onward to the Senate and fighting to strengthen the bill!

With passage of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives today takes an important first step in reregulating the financial sector.

Good goin' House. . .now you can count on a solid 40 Republican Senators to vote "nay" on this bill too. This Bill will be considered an unnecessary govt intervention impeding the free markets, the "invisible hand" of their God. This is economic sacrilege for GOP's. Especially "The Family" members, as per Jeff Sharlet's book. A book I highly recommend.

It would also take some of the volatility out of the markets which would benefit just about everyone. Who knows, it might one day make it profitable for banks to invest in businesses instead of just moving around pieces of paper... I can dream, can't I?
