Very sad. I hope people are smart enough to know that this was the act of ONE man and not an entire religion, culture, or nation. This is a tragedy.

Almost half of Americans believe the evolutionary science is incompatible with religious teachings -- how this impacts issues like global warming.

Agree with Jenna also. I'm on the "other" side as an atheist. Whatever one's religious or non-religious views, to deny evolutionary science is to embrace ignorance.

Why is it okay to deny science in these matters but to embrace it by using all forms of technology that are science based to enhance your life, science is not a salad bar of items you "choose" to believe they are factual findings based on research and analysis and have nothing to do with faith or the absence of logic.

Religious values aren't a filter for many search engines, but religious-themed ones are popping up around the world.

Just wondering... could we also come up with a search engine that finally filters all the outdated religious BS too and brings up only reality based, scientifically proven yet morally still acceptable secular results?
Or something like that wouldn't be "kosher" and acceptable in the eyes of this fictional character called "God"?

There may be a parable in the meteoric rise of Starbucks Coffee shops and America.

Yeah, true dat, we like what we like. I don't follow the emperor and his clothes thing, though...
Some are fine with two buck chucks, or some $4 substitute (like me), and some have to drop $30+ a bottle to get what they like. Wine, coffee, caviar, whatever, we find what works, I reckon.
Having lived in PDX and Seattle, and having really enjoyed Stumptown, Ladro, and a bunch of other local-ish shops, it is hard for me to get the SBs loyalty thing.
