While your childhood may be a distant memory at this point, I’m sure you can recall your mother or father reminding you to share. And although this may be painful for you to admit, your mom and dad were usually right. So remember to do what’s best! ...

After a covey flush on a fence row, one of the birds got hooked on the barbed wire strand briefly... it spun around once and popped off, just as the dog snagged it in mid air like a frisbie!

My dad busted a covey and on the rise one bird flew back toward him and ran into his gun barrel before he shouldered it. The bird fell to his feet and he put his foot on it and picked it up. No buckshot in that meat.

I was thirteen and had been hunting our home covey for five or six days, with nothing to show. For it was everyday our old Pointer would point and I would miss. But on this day as the covey got up a single bird veered to the right and ran in to my shot. I can still '' see'' that bird in my hand.
