In the sleepy town of Sangre Valley, Buicks still have tailfins, girls don poodle skirts, and families gather around their black and white televisions to watch The Donna Reed Show. But not all is as it seems in this 1950’s town. The milkman leaves bottles of blood on the doorstep instead of milk, and the grocery store ...sells human heads as produce instead of heads of lettuce. The residents of Sangre Valley are vampires. Check out The Vampiric Housewife on amazon.com!!!Read More

Linda White What's your favorite Halloween (scary-like) book? I am thinking Frankenstein, Dracula, or other books that make you pull the covers up over your nose and check the locks on the doors...

ok, maybe I'll give it another go. But the movie The Shining (both versions) really was scary! Also wasn't the The Stand his too? I just saw the movie (which is my way of avoiding scary reading...).

I don't usually finish them if I don't like them, so not sure what that would be! I know of a friend who read a book and in the end - it was all a dream! She threw the book across the room. I have read several that left me underwhelmed (An Arsonist's Tour of New England comes to mind), but not really awful.
