Apoel DAmanik Actually how the director get the theme for the show each year. Is it voted from all members ?

Binah Brownstein Wing

Binah Brownstein Wing Quick question: If we wanted to come to rehearsal tomorrow (Thursday) night, is there a time when you do a "run through" of the whole show? Any guess as to what time that might be? BTW, it was fun to watch the new stuff come together in rehearsal tonight. Too bad my 3 year old didn't feel like staying any longer...

Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps
Go to www.regiment.org/calendar. The schedule for each day is listed. Run throughs are typically at the end of ensemble.

Aaron Hey Phantom I am a part of Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin and we attended your show in Madison which was absolutely amazing. We also are staying at Kettle Moraine Lutheran on the 2nd. We as a band are looking forward to hopefully watching you practice. Good Luck to you for the rest of the year.

Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps Currently on the way back to South Beloit after the Dubuque show. Thanks to the Colts for serving us snack tonight! (We left the food truck in South Beloit for the trip to Dubuque and back).

Colts did the same for us in 99. Definitely a classy organization!

"There's nothing half-way about the Iowa way to treat you, if they treat you...which they may not do at all..." But the Colts do!

Steve Stevenson Good luck with new "new and improved" show tonight in Dubuque!

Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps
Well...we didn't get all the changes done in time for tonights show. So the new and improved version will be ready for our next show in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
Martin ODonnell

Martin ODonnell The other classic photo we've wondered about was of a soloist. He was of quite the heavy build and playing soprano or piccolo soprano bugle, leaned way back squealing out his solo. Framing this soloist in a nice neat arc behind him, were several tall, beanpoles at perfect attention playing contras. It was a hilarious study in contrasts. Can't remember if this was black and white or color.

Martin ODonnell

Martin ODonnell Okay, so my brother and I have both been wondering about this. Back in the late 70s there was an iconic picture of the Phantom colorguard doing its flag presentation at the finale of the show. It was in black and white and fog blanketed the field so that the ends of the flags that were against the ground were almost obscured and the colorguard seemed to rise up out of the fog, all lines leading up toward the American flag in the center. Does anyone know if this photo still exists? If it is available for reprints?

Joy Hagan Pow

Joy Hagan Pow A big happy birthday to Brandon! Have a great one and we will see you at DCI's!
Best of Luck for the 2009 season!
Ed and Joy

Gary Ferris

Gary Ferris Just a short note to "Tuba Tot" to wish him a Happy Birthday! All the best for the 2009 season Brandon!!! Gary & Diana

Marie Rodreick

Marie Rodreick I just want to give a shout out to my trumpet girl - Katie Blanchette. I had a blast working on the food truck and so admire what everyone does to make Phantom run so smoothly. I will forever be a PHAN!!!! Go Regiment!

Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps
Thanks for your help! Come back soon!
Jim O'Donnell

Jim O'Donnell Take a look at the breakdown of the scores - In the midwest the scores for the music caption are hanging a bit above 30 for the leaders, while in the west the caption is hanging around 8 points lower. Meanwhile, the west has very high visual scores for the leaders (around 24 points), while the midwest is about 10 points lower. The two sets of judges seem to be using completely different standards! I just can't believe that the visual score for the Blue Devils is that much higher than that for the Cavaliers, or that their music score is that much lower than the Regiment.

Martin
Martin
Don't look at the scores themselves, look at the caption heads across the tops of the recap sheets. They are laid out differently so clearly, yes, they aren't judging the eastern and western competitions the same way. Will be interesting to see how they come out once the judges are scoring the corps on the same scoresheets. July 11 we'll know.
Angie

Angie For reference..... on July 1, 2008, Regiment had the 6th highest score in the country....behind BD, Vanguard, Cavaliers, Cadets & Crown..... and their score was 5.5 points behind the leader (BD)...... and we all know what happened in the end. :)

Mark
Mark
scores this early mean nothing...
In 96 at DCI Quarterfinals we finished 4.3 behind first place and ended up tied for first 2 nights later... Its a crazy world LOL
Shane Colton Walters

Shane Colton Walters Phantom has the best drum corps Facebook page. Top notch photos and updates.

Binah Brownstein Wing

Binah Brownstein Wing OK, so I think we're officially crazy fans of the Regiment. We traveled to Madison for the show there and we're driving two hours to see the show in Dubuque!
