Mike Paul, I traveled from Chicago's NW suburbs to my hometown of Oak Creek and had the pleasure of seeing you in the parade before enjoying your state even more with 3 days in Door County. Keep up the good work, wish we had more like you down here.

Paul Ryan “[This] vote reminds me of just how distant and out of touch Washington is from Wisconsin. At a time when jobs are increasingly scarce across Southern Wisconsin, Congress passed legislation explicitly designed to shrink our economy and increase energy costs on all Americans. Wisconsin is one of the nation’s top manufacturing States. Wisconsin entrepreneurs, small businesses, and workers shouldn’t need permission from the federal government to produce, grow, and create jobs, yet that is exactly the paternalistic message sent by Congress."

Yeah, I haven't seen any sign of global warming here in Wisconsin. My furnace was running in June! I physically had to go into the basement and flip the switch to turn it off because no one's furnace should be running in June! We had, what, 3 days of heat and high humidity a couple of weeks ago? Hhmmph! I just picked the last of my asparagus a ... Read Morefew days ago when it should have been done last month. My raspberries just started turning and those should have been ready last month. We had our last frost after Memorial Day and at this rate, we'll be lucky to have our tomatoes by September! What a bunch of hooey!

Renee at 6:26am July 9
This might be a stupid question, but do the people in Washington pay electric bills? Do they do their own laundry even? As a family of 7, we do about 5-6 loads of laundry a day, mostly in cold water. We all have to bathe. I can't seem to get our electric bills to be under $180 a month. We don't have A/C or central air(but who needs those ... Read Morethings in Wisconsin lately, right?) All I know is that we might have to go live by a lake so I can pound out our clothes between some rocks if the energy rates increase! Then again, the taxes on Wisconsin lakeside living would probably kill us! This is all just crazy business! I agree with Kurt's post above-everything has become so damned "energy effecient"-homes, windows, appliances, light bulbs, therefore causing the elec. companies to lose money. So, we all have to be punished for trying to save money. I've had about enough!

P. S. Mr Ryan I am one of your supporters here in Wisconsin and I believe my website would work well with the Republican party. We need you to be a supporter.
thanks
Dave Friesner

I know everyone on here (or everyone thinking clearly) is against the gov't bailouts and the hard to fathom financial hole we are being put into. We can do something about it. I'm encouraging everyone to visit my website bailoutfreesite.com tomorrow. We are licensing the "Certified No Bailout Funds" certification mark for banks and financial institutions to use in their advertising and store signage. You should be able to drive down the road and tell which banks took the money and didn't. IF your bank didn't take the money encourage them to display our Certification Mark so the rest of the public will know. We can vote and make change with our wallet. Give the business to the right companies. Note: a bank, financial inst., manufacturer can also become certified if they give the money back. Use the contact tab at my website if you'd like to know more or call me at 913-523-5498
thanks Dave Friesner
Mr. Ryan I'd be honored if you'd call me.

Heather Reeves Pokey Ryan, who and how do I call the Reps and Senators of our state of WI to tell them "NO" on this nat'lized health care-I have to be honest I'm really scared that my freedom is going 2 be taken away! I never thought I'd wake up any more 2 fear my freedom being taken away-I just can't believe this country is letting this administration and prez get away with this! Hopefully now that our freedom is almost gone that this country will WAKE UP and demand our freedom from gov't officials and the prez. Thanks for doing what you're doing Paul-Paul Ryan for President in 2012! At least we can trust u!

Sandra Whalen Thanks for your leadership and patriotism, Congressman! Wish we could get some more common-sense representation like you on this side of the state!

Dean Bartosh A more immediate threat to us is the Waxman-Markey Global Warming Bill that you will be voting on tomorrow. I urge you to vote against this bill as it will add substantial amounts to our energy costs for years to come.

Paul Ryan's Opening Statement House Budget Committee hearing on the Administration’s Statutory PAYGO Proposal June 25, 2009 - First, I want to note that I appreciate any real effort by the Administration and Congress to get a grip on our nation’s mounting fiscal crisis...

Ray Van Dolson Republicans need to better coordinate and centralize their communication efforts in fighting the president's media onslaught for government run health care. I'd love to see Mr. Ryan be that voice, but does the GOP have a website devoted to the topic? Somewhere with the criticisms of the state run plan laid out in plain English that we can all understand and a clear description of why the proposed alternative is better? The only way we can fight "infomercials" and such is to have a coordinated message ourselves and a central place to deliver it from. And thanks Cong. Ryan btw for your voice on this issue.

Paul Ryan
I think there should be [health care reform this year]. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it is going to be a bipartisan reform, or the kind that we’ve been proposing because the Democrats have the votes and they’ve told us that they’re really not interested in sincere bipartisanship...
You can have universal access to affordable health insurance for every American – regardless of preexisting conditions – without the government taking it over, with a private-based system. That is exactly what I and others like Rep. Devin Nunes and Senators Tom Coburn and Richard Burr have proposed. We have a bill called the Patients’ Choice Act...

June 25, 2009 - ABC's Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer - Rep. Paul Ryan's perspective on the president's health forum. (Due to editing from ABC, the audio is a bit off and the video is a bit choppy)
Stephanie at 6:36pm June 25
Hey Doug, my husband and I thought of that too. I have no doubt that they will consider a woman wanting an abortion to have such a serious "condition" that she must be allowed to have one right away.
Meanwhile other women will die from breast or cervical cancer because the government will either; (1) think she is not worth the time and effort to ... Read Moresave, or (2) they will not allow coverage for preventative care like yearly check ups until the woman is 25, (like in Europe) and women like me who discovered their cervical cancer at 21 will have it so bad by the time is is found that it is past the curable stage. Then the govt. will pay way more for the chemotherapy needed just to treat her incurable cancer than what it would have cost them to allow her to have the check ups in the first place. This happened to a young woman in Europe. He story is on the Conservatives for Patient Rights website. It is so scary to me because I could be her and now only have an estimated two years to live!

Thank you for leading the fight on health care -- GMA gave you a few seconds this morning and you sure made the best of it.

Paul Ryan
The President’s plan is not the way to go, but I totally agree that we need health care reform. That is why I have offered very comprehensive health care reform.
We already spend more than 2.5 times/person on health care than any other country. We're going to spend $5 trillion just for the federal government on health care for the next 10 years. We're saying take that money and spend it more efficiently and more effectively through the individual, through tax credits for individuals to be able to get health insurance. If you like what you’ve got, you can apply your tax credit to your plan from your employer.
We take the tax benefit for health insurance and delink it from the job and reattach it to the worker, thereby ending the discrimination in the tax code and against people who don’t get health insurance from their jobs, making it a universal benefit. We do this with no new taxes, no new spending, but by taking the money we already spend and do it far more intelligently...

The Democrats and President Obama say Republicans are the 'no' party - well, I guess they're right when it comes to Paul's plan - 'No' new taxes and 'No' new spending!
Raymond at 1:44pm June 25
it's bad enough to have law enforcement and education politicized, but having healthcare politicized would be catastrophic.

Paul Ryan
The public option doesn't pay taxes, doesn't have to pay for payroll for workers, gets to pay slower rates by mandating lower prices. The private sector doesn't have any of those advantages, and so what all the experts tell us is anywhere from 64 to 120 million Americans over the next 3 to 4 years will lose their private health insurance and go on the public plan. The public plan pushes private plans out of the way and involves the government as the only payer of health insurance. Under this approach, if you want to contain costs, then the government must ration care, getting between you and your doctor. That's not the path we want to take.
You can have universal access to affordable health care for everybody without the government taking it over. We're going to spend $5 trillion just for the federal government on health care for the next 10 years. We're saying take that money and spend it more efficiently and more effectively through the individual.

If a competitor eliminates private insurance in favor of a "free" public one - how can a company compete without also eliminating the private insurance. Barrack said it was "illogical" - perhaps he should revisit basic economics.
Diane at 7:15pm June 25
How can the medical industry survive on government payments for care -- they pay pennies on the dollar now and providers take it in the shorts.

Bryce Hass Sober and to the point. My fear is that some folks will push the "healthcare for all" mantra and assume it as truth....similar to global warming. They will use the starting point of "healthcare for all" and assume that the debate is only about how do we make it happen. To which I say "back up the bus Francis". I agree that the current system is broken, but federal socialized medical care is not the answer. Has anyone even mentioned each state taking care of their own unique situation? The point is, that without honest debate and real transparency in any proposed solution (s), my worry is that many good intentioned Americans will form their opinion from sound-bites. Keep up the fight Paul!

Ben Paul will you be posting the video for your interview tomorrow? It is very unfortunate that you didn't receive a prime time spot beside our President tonight. He didn't discuss ways of reducing med school costs in a free market manner like removing restrictions on the number of new medical schools.

Nat Thanks for speaking at the Miami University 2009 commencement ceremony. It was truly inspiring and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Paul Ryan I'll be speaking with Diane Sawyer tomorrow on ABC's Good Morning America about health care reform. Tune in between 7-7:30 am tomorrow morning (all time zones) to hear an alternative approach on how we can achieve universal access to affordable, quality health care in this country, without adding trillions of dollars in new spending, taxes and debt, and without the government taking it over.

MILWAUKEE -- WISN 12 News wants to hear about your thoughts on the health care system in the United States. Monday, June 22, 2009.

Frances
Paul, would you please tell the conservatives to keep their pants zipped up!? I know, there is a lot more important stuff going on and YOU ARE paying attention to the really important things!
But the liberals love to use this kind of stuff to call us hypocritical! But you have to have standards to be hypocritical. Since the liberals have NO standards to start with (lol), I guess they can accuse only us of hypocricy?
God knows and we know that all of us are sinners and we believe in salvation.
But in politics it is different:
Conservatives have to do twice as much good to be considered half as good
But only do half as bad to be considered twice as bad.
Remind them that Barney Frank was involved with a male lover employed at Fannie/Freddie when all this financial crisis stuff was in the making and helped by Barney.

Paul Ryan This memo’s purpose is to describe the health care debate in ways that most Americans can understand and to offer a united strategy for addressing it

um, while we do need to oppose the elimination of private sector health care, N Korea is threatening to wipe us out - Can we not take this regime out, like now?

Jenni at 11:14am June 24
LOL Noel!

Paul Ryan
What we're getting from the other side and the President are these straw men arguments, which are really intellectually lazy. More importantly, mocking the criticism doesn't make it untrue.
With the public plan, it is literally impossible for the private sector to fairly compete against it. The private sector has to pay taxes. The private sector has to account for its employees and benefits. The private sector pays whatever rates it negotiates with providers. The public plan dictates payments lower than what the private sector can get, doesn't pay taxes, and literally doesn't have to account for its payroll and benefit costs. It is a stacked deck.

Jenni at 11:09am June 24
Common Sense will prevail- just keep hitting them with the facts! Great job!
Adrian at 3:31pm June 24
you are the new face of the GOP mr Ryan. I hope you keep making great strides with your financial insight, and your political drive to push for preserving our capitalist system and great american values.

Lisa Rector-Thomas Paul, please don't have any affairs.

It's ironic that Paul just finished saying on an interview clsoe to the Father's Day that he values above all being a good husband and father...a clue that he is devoted! But still, we are definitely pleading with our leaders!! No hanky panky.

Jeremy You are the best! Keep it up! I admire your courage and temperance toward govt control and spending. Keep it up, Mr. Ryan!

Ana Puloka Keep fighting the good fight for us, we are slowly but surely waking up the rest, hopefully, before the die is cast.
