Jeff Turner I'm wondering how the LinkedIn community will react to the potential surge of status updates about to head its way. My initial thoughts about the Twitter/LinkedIn intergration announcement today.

Jeff Turner I did this for Teresa Boardman. It's her birthday today and it appears she doesn't know how to make that appear on her Facebook profile. I thought this tutorial might help her and others like her. :)

That was AWESOME! Nice Job Jeff! I know some people that can actually use this as a reference! Very Funny!

Happy Birthday @TBoard! :-)

Jeff Turner Peephole is an iPhone application I've ben using for several months. It allows you to very quickly get a glimpse of the photos that the people you're following are posting to Twitter.

What makes it unique is that it's 100% visual, so you can quickly decide what is and is not of interest to you. I use the Friends filte...r most, but have also found some the "Nearby" filter useful as well.

Jeff Turner This is a quick look at the beta of @jazzychad's latest Twitter tool, the followup to Tweetgrid.com/IRC which he says is twIRC on crack. I'll agree.

Notable feature updates from Tweetgrid.com/IRC are these:
- Ability to highlight users
- Ability to ban a user from your view
- Ability to hide retweets and clean up stream n...oise.

And, Chad, I have a couple suggestions as well. :)

Jeff Turner Google Wave is an interesting beast. It's a strange hybrid of Instant Message and email, with real-time updates. This is NOT a how to video. Just three guys trying to see how Wave works. However, you may find it useful.

Jeff Turner Matt Fagioli is forcing all of us on the "Using Social Media In Real Estate" panel at REBlogworld to use 10 slides with no words as our focal point for our five minute individual segments. Here are mine in "teaser video" format. :)

Crowd sourcing? At the agent level? Even the largest broker portals don't mine the data on the tens of thousands of users they already have on file. Even if the reporting was there and individual agents could target users with content specific to a users behavior or profile, this task would be extremely low on their priority list. To an agent, ... See Moremanaging today's relationships IS the business.

The industry has choosen to obsess on social networking primarily because its an easy to grasp concept and for the most part its free....not because its proven to be effective. And even within the social networking conversation, we talk about consumers, rather than the real power of the social network, which is communication via company intranets and business partners.

What makes you think I was talking about the agent level?

You are 100% correct... the real power, when finally harnessed, will come at the company level. Whether that manifest in the form of intranets or simply subgroups of open networks remains to be seen.

I know even our small company gets tremendous benefit from Yammer, for example. But there might be even more benefit if Twitter allowd some selective private groupings for communications inside companies. ... See More

Question for you? Is the telephone effective?

Jeff Turner I invited Tina Dodelin Merritt to join me in a little test of the new Vivox voice chat app here in Facebook. Our fist chat was miserable, mostly because I didn't have my headset in properly.

This is the second attempt and you'll notice some feedback even though both of us have our headsets on. This app is still in beta..., so we shouldn't judge too harshly. There is a short tutorial at the beginning of this screencast, but most of it is here just to illustrate the experience.

Note: One of the features I can see being beneficial is the ability to use this as a conference call bridge. You'll find the number to use in the upper right hand corner after you sign up for the service.

If you've used it already, what has your experience been?

The iPhone, while revolutionary, will be one of a dozen mobile devices with comparible functionality by spring 2010. With the migration toward unified communications and access to information from any device, the lack of flash on an iPhone is the least of its problems.

No ... I meant to say she was a victim of a hacker ... last week's " I-made-$384-yesterday" message came from Missy's account ... My point was we get spam from friends who are hacked ... we can alert them but there is no reporting beyind that ... sorry for the confusion. Good morning, BTW ... glad you are enjoying the Big Apple.
