Rob Pegoraro My column:
Something wonderful has happened in the world of high-definition video over the past few years: Flat-panel HDTVs have become everyday, relatively risk-free purchases. If only the same thing could happen for another category of high-def devices -- Blu-ray players.

Rob Pegoraro My column:
Not so long ago, cameras and camcorders lived as separate species. Rob Pegoraro Sunday's Q&A (http://bit.ly/7hRs2N) has a stupid typo in the monitor-resolutions item; last figure should be 1920 x 1200. Correction TK.

Q: I am thinking of replacing my four-year-old Garmin GPS unit with a newer Garmin that includes free lifetime traffic data and MSN Direct. Would that ease my holiday drives?

Rob Pegoraro Today's most depressing PR-pitch subject header: "Review New Tax Prep Software from [firm]" Can't you guys wait until at least January?

Rob Pegoraro I love this little stunt Gizmodo pulled - taking a 22-year-old Mac Plus into the Genius Bar of an Apple Store for service. (FWIW, the people at the store had the right idea suggesting TekServe; I've heard good things about that place.)

I didn't know, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I brought an ancient and non-functioning Macintosh Plus to the Apple Store in the Meatpacking District in NYC, and this is what happened.

Rob Pegoraro First response to my "unfriend" blog post (http://bit.ly/4tTwiC)? A "let's practice unfriending" friend request from a reader.
