Answer one question from me: Are you in favor of abandoning U.S. soveriegnty in favor of creating a "One World Government?" That's my only question. Politicians will never get my vote without addressing this question.

This administration has their heads up their preverbial ars. They seem to be wreaking this country on purpose, trying turn the US into a third world country. Who is the world going to turn to in the future without a financially strong U.S? We have bailed so many countries out in the past, where is their help going to come from when we can not ... See Moreafford to come to the rescue? Michigan has unemployment in the 20's with Ohio not far behind - wonder how people that voted for this like their change now? Rob I hope you can help but unless there is a major shift in representation in Washington we are going to be in big trouble. The rifraft on both sides have to GO and the Republican Party needs to quite playing in the middle of the road. That is why people voted Democratic because if all you got is a Democrat want-to-be might as well vote for a Demcrat or stay home and not vote at all. I still am not sure the Republican Party has heard the message as a whole.

Here is Senator Brown attempting to lie about abortion in the bill in a July 20th email reply:

Dear Mr. Burtyk:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on upcoming health care reform legislation. I can understand your view that tax dollars should not be spent to fund abortion services. Please be assured, your tax dollars do not fund abortion services and it is against the law to use federal funds for this purpose.... See More

After the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, Congress enacted restrictions on the use of federal money for abortions. The so-called "Hyde Amendment" restricted the use of Medicaid funds for abortion services.

In 1970, Congress passed the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act. This act contained a section entitled Title X that provides grants to public and private nonprofit agencies that supply voluntary family planning services. The law stipulates that no clinic may be fully funded by Title X funds, nor may Title X funds be used to perform abortions.

There are no plans in the current Congress to overturn these laws nor to include coverage for abortion procedures in upcoming health care legislation. Thank you again for getting in touch with me.

Sincerely,

Sherrod Brown
United States Senator
