On Saturday October 31 (Halloween), Tennessee Wild will be holding a Wilderness Workshop from 10 am - 2 pm at the Chattanooga Nature Center, 400 Garden Road, Chattanooga. Representatives from the Southern Appalachian Forest Coalition, The Wilderness Society and... Campaign for America's Wilderness will be on hand to teach volunteers how they can play a role in protecting nearly 18,000 acres of the Cherokee National Forest as wilderness. These areas offer stellar opportunities for hiking, backpacking and quiet recreation. We will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Tennessee Wilderness Act of 1984, which was signed into law on October 30, 1984. This law created the Citico Creek Wilderness, the Bald River Gorge Wilderness, and the Big Frog Wilderness. We have some great door prizes donated by Rock Creek. Please join us!
