Papers cover much of Linda Eckhart's desk, albeit in meticulously arranged piles. She bears down, inputting figures, pecking away at her keyboard, occasionally swiveling to consult with a colleague via speakerphone.

Lisa, The Bee writer featured the INKs "do it my way" aproach much to many a groan and a shaking of ones head. typical of the "must need controversy" aproach to the subject. Why she didnt photagrgh my beautiful dutch bikes but instead picked the skull and bones look to bike delivery is anybodys' guess

Edible Pedal bikes are lit up like xmas trees and all riders wear helmets, even the tires have a reflective strips.

The big (and encouraging) news here is the ongoing cooperation between HUD, USEPA and USDOT. That's a recipe for a good federal transportation bill that focuses money and policy to enhance urban regions.

Glad to see the added on-train bike capacity. Thanks, CCJPA! I wonder if any longer bikes-- tandems, recumbents-- can be accommodated.

Sounds like a fun challenge! I was born and raised in Elk Grove (before it was a suburban nightmare; filled with open fields, oak trees, red barns and small creeks.) I now live in Santa Cruz, but still go home to visit my dad. I remember in my teens biking to into Sactown occasionally with my friend's dad (who was also a cyclist). I have tried to ... Read Moreretrace those routes but they seem to be mostly obscured by huge housing developments now. My question is, does anyone know a "safe-ish" bike route from Elk Grove to Midtown?
Cheers,
Ashley
