Samba bateria classes with Grupo Samba Rio will be happening this Sunday, 2/12. This week, percussionist Brian Rice will be guest instructor leading the classes/rehearsal.
Everyone is welcome to join the classes, depending on level as described below.
Regular samba bateria members are also especially encouraged to come and continue ongoing work on playing skills and ensemble work.
... Class schedule on Sunday will be 5:30-7:30:
5:30-6:30: Samba drum technique class for all levels
6:30-7:30: Ensemble playing for bateria members and experienced players
Discount price for classes in Jorge Alabe’s absence: $10 each week.
Bring drums if you have them (only a few extras available to borrow).
As usual, classes are held at the FICA studio at 2513 Magnolia Street, in west Oakland.See More
