Hi Gareth - just wondering if you could tell me who was invited to the Sharman Pretty Meeting on Nov 18th. Were the whole of VCAM invited or a particular discipline - what was in the email? Just seems unfair if students don't even know about meetings.

Its a waste of tax payers money putting it all at the wrong places! Its better if the government just stop all fundings and all the taxes.

Therefore we can keep our cash to ourselves and spent it as we are pleased.

Dean Pretty sells the Discussion Paper.

Somewhat laughable Sharman believes the "independent chair" that she
and VC Glyn Davis will appoint is "independent" simply because the
person is outside of the University?!

Also we had a collective cough when Sharman said this Discussion Paper
was always going to happen as part of th...eir "strategic" approach. If
that were true surely it would have happened in 2007 before they
slashed and burned? And perhaps not ‘coincidentally’ after 7 months of
protests.

Dean Pretty also forgot to mention there is nothing about her in the
Discussion Paper i.e. a discussion that perhaps her 'talents' may not
be the best fit for VCA.

This Discussion Paper is sounding more and more like heavily-PRd,
subjective, box-ticking.

What is happening to our universities? WHy are they working against students? Perhaps it is due to the lack of funding that government deficit caused in the 80's and now for the next ten years funding will go even lover because of the deficit. AGH. I don't want the VCA to die!
