Anyone can do the Hunt, but they have to be 13+ to win the prizes. My son (Web2 & crossing in the spring) had all the clues and was about to download the puzzle, but he had to come get me for that bit and thats when I read the restriction to him. He was a little disappointed to say the least and threw his clues in the trash.

Sadly, I feel like ... Read Morethe Cub side has gotten slighted and overshadowed by the Boy Scouts yet again. I saw no reason a Cub could not win either of the prizes listed, so why the age restriction?

well seeing as during this season (from the end of November to the beginning of January) has at least four holidays that i can think of off the top of my head right now, and in the interest of money (which ultimately drives everything) it makes sense to make one set of cards that simply says "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" otherwise they ... Would I LIKE to have this rifle? Yep, I would. I'd also like a brand new mercedes and my wife would like a brand new four door jeep. Instead we're driving a 4 yr old saturn and a 9 yr old expediton. I wanted this rifle as a scout for the 75th version. I didn't get it, instead I got the pocketknife. And I still have it, in its original carboard box.

Scouting attempts to release items for everyone. Every year, for example we get a new collectible...the annual chistmas ornament. @$6.

Our council does that. We have a huge popcorn drive and some other smaller items. We then push FOS and ask for any contribution, no matter how small. But we also make big ticket items....like a sporting clays event. And by appealing to all levels of donors, from the wealthy to the not so, we've been able to have a great program and make some major capital improvements.... Read More

I find it ironic that the thread went negative against BSA and the items, then when Corey pointed out simple facts, Gwendollyn went extremely negative on him and then basically called him unscoutlike. G, I'd re-read your own posts and ask yourself if that's fair.

Corey, I can tell that you are an intelligent and thoughtful guy. That said, you should know that facts and reasoning have no place in a discussion with people that are ruled by emotion. Those that got down on you are upset that they cannot afford the rifle, either monetarily or out of principle. So, emotion dictates that it must be the fault ... Read Moreof someone else that they feel this way. It is the external/emotional argument verses the internal/cognitive - you can't win that one even when you are right. To even try would just be mean. ;)
