The Museum of Contemporary Art presents the must-see contemporary art event of the year, Take your time: Olafur Eliasson. From the artist who created the hugely successful Weather Project installation in London’s Tate Modern and last year’s New York City Waterfalls Project, this is the first large-scale exhibition of w...orks by the Danish-Icelandic artist ever presented in Australia.
Raised partly in Iceland, Eliasson’s work is influenced by that country’s primitive landscape and spectacular weather. He draws upon elements such as light, water, ice, fog, arctic moss and lava rock to create works that shift viewer perception and sense of place.
From light-filled and intensely colourful environments to walk-in kaleidoscopes, Eliasson’s unique, experiential and immersive works explore the intersection between nature and science, and the boundary between the organic and the artificial.
Time:10:00AM Thursday, December 10th
Location:Museum of Contemporary Art
