Sen. Burr, thank you for your continued opposition to this health care bill. For those of you who are contacting him toasl him to vote against the health care bill, I would recommend contacting Kay Hagan instead. She is likely to vote yes for this bill and therefore needs to be reminded that her job could be in jeopardy should she choose to do so. Toll Free: 1-877-852-9462

Sen. Burr, first I'd like to say thank you. Your office helped me to be approved for disability back in 2003. What happens to us now if the healthcare bill is passed? I've been trying to keep up with what will happen to those of us that are on Medicare. If all these cuts are made and premiums go up, how are we expected to live? My mother's Social ... Read MoreSecurity is less than $700.00 per month. My disability is just over $1000.
I appreciate what you are doing as our Senator, who do we need to contact to have a say in this? I'd like for someone to stand up for us, the little people who don't seem to matter any more. Maybe we should challange KAY HAGAN AND OTHERS ...can you live on $1000.00 per month and not be able to afford a Medicare suppliment? How would you pay all your co-pays, and the medicines you need that Medicare don't pay for? Plus, we have to pay all our other bills, and live off what's left. THANK YOU, SEN. BURR, KEEP UP THE FIGHT!!!

That's great! This was a big problem. We need it to work the other way, too, however. Military need to be able to claim residency where their spouse is a resident (if this legislation doesn't address that). Originally from PA, I was stationed in the Air Force in England where I met and married a North Carolinian with the intention to return to... Read More NC post-discharge. I paid NC taxes for two years while living abroad and serving our country, but, found upon discharge that I could not claim NC residency. I was discharged in NC and have lived here ever since then (16 years). It's a problem for school applications, tuition assessments, etc. (an endeavor many service men and women embark upon when they leave the service and seek to use their GI Bill). Thank you for your devotion to our veterans.

Unemployment benefits have been extended - now - we need the COBRA healthcare coverage to extend to 36 months instead of 18 months - and the 65% subsidy - which lowers family coverage from $1,000 to $400. People on unemployment will have to choose between healthcare and foreclosure if the subsidy is not provided. I know there has been talk that ... Read Moreif the Healthcare Reform passes - the unemployed can get this coverage - but, I thought this Reform did not begin until 2013/2014.?????? Everything seems to be "pretty calm" at this point in time - the unemployed are dealing with the money they get and are trying to "maintain" until the hiring begins again. THE HIRING WON'T BEGIN AGAIN UNTIL THE CONGRESS AND SENATE EITHER SAY "YES" OR "NO" TO THE HEALTHCARE BILL. PLEASE!!! JUST MAKE A DECISION!!!!!!! WE ARE TIRED OF ALL THE BICKERING!!!!!

I am in my Second Year of Unemployment Benefits. They are determined on Quarters of earnings. I am earning Unemployment Benefits off my LAST Quarter of earnings. What happens if this horrible recession goes into its THIRD year? There won't be anymore quarters of earnings. This will mean that the foreclosures we have seen at the beginning of ... Read Morethe recession will CONTINUE ON...therefore, the economy will continue to deteriorate re: unemployed with "no money" and MANY foreclosures. We also need COBRA extended for 36 month instead of 18 and the 65% subsidy for the 36 months. This could be the "beginning plan or prototype" of your new Healthcare Reform.
Individuals - $163 a month instead of $466 - and,
Families - approx. $375 or $400 a month instead of over $1,000 a month. Or, get the Unemployed enrolled in Medicare. Thank you,

I think Senator Burr is doing a great job! He does a lot of good for a lot of people. If you have a problem write him or call and I'm sure eventually he will address your concerns. It's hard being in his position especially now with so many people needing help with everything going on in this country.
