Yep. Hence the word 'photographing'. ;-) Photos might take a little while to get up. Not only is the internet here worse than dialup (no exaggeration) but I need to deliver them to the NGO first.

I’ve just learned today that, for a chance to go to Gaza, I would have to re-apply to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry as an individual or as part of a very small group. Under current regulations, the Egyptian government has 20 days to respond to the request. Others that have gone through this process ...

Shawn Duffy Photography It doesn't look like Gaza is going to happen... at least not in a timeframe that I need. I have some cool projects coming up in the West Bank, though, so I'm definitely looking forward to that!

Today was the day when the Gaza Freedom March members planned to march through the Gaza Strip to the Erez crossing with Israel in the north in an effort to protest the continued international sanctions against the Palestinians living in the small coastal region. Shawn Duffy Photography just received reports that 300 Americans are being detained at the Sun and Lotus Hotels... can anyone confirm? There are also possible injuries at the Egyptian Museum where cops have barricaded demonstrators.

Shawn Duffy Photography Members of the Gaza Freedom March gathered in front of the Journalists’ Syndicate building in downtown Cairo today to protest the Egyptian government’s decision to deny them entry to the Gaza Strip. Demonstrators waved signs and chanted “Free Free Palestine” while Egyptian security in riot gear looked on. The focal poi...nt of the demonstration were a few hunger strikers led by 85 year old Holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein.

The Gaza Freedom March is an international delegation consisting of over 1300 people who arrived in Cairo last week in an effort to travel to the Gaza Strip. While in Gaza, they planned to deliver humanitarian supplies and protest the continued sanctions against the Hamas-run coastal territory.
