A world-class free outdoor concert celebrating the rich culture of Australian South Sea Islanders.
The best Melanesian musicians on the international stage will perform alongside a group of outstandingly talented musicians from the local Australian South Sea Islander community.
Bowen Sing Sing is the major... event opening the Dalrymple Soundshell and the spectacular new Bowen foreshore redevelopment. It will be the finale of the inaugural Bowen Cultural & Seafood Festival.
Seven time ARIA Award-winning artist, David Bridie leads a stunning line-up including George Telek and Richard Mogu from Papua New Guinea, Marcel Meto from Vanuatu, Gulaan from New Caledonia and emerging talent, Georgia Corowa from Bowen.
The music will vary from traditional to string band to contemporary, and features a 20-piece choir in the strong Melanesian harmonic tradition.
Haunting bamboo flutes, pulsating drums, spectacular costumes and stunning visual projections will all come together to celebrate the rich heritage of the South Sea Islander community in Australia.
Bring a blanket, sit back and soak up the South Sea Island vibe in a dynamic show for the whole family that will bring the Bowen foreshore to life.
