Hi guys, please keep the comments coming!
To answer your question Charlotte, the blue SMARTIES are coloured using a concentrate of an edible seaweed called Spirulina. This has allowed us to bring back Blue but still make sure SMARTIES are made from no artificial colours or flavours.
Make sure you look out for the giant tubes in store this Christmas, also available in a limited edition Blue SMARTIES tube and Pink SMARTIES tube!

Thanks for all the comments - keep them coming!
And to clear up a couple of those niggling questions:
Thank you Katie for confirming - yes the orange ones do have an orange flavour and they're the only ones that do! It all goes back to a time long before hexatubes when we also had coffee flavoured Smartie s made from real coffee beans but the orange one has stuck around due to popular demand.
- And for all of you missing the old round tube, that was a change made back in 2005 to bring SMARTIES into a more modern design. Lots of chocolate fans were consulted at the time, but you can't please everyone! However, the old tube does still exist in giant form around Christmas time, so look out for that one - it even has the old plastic lid!
