This article is incredibly misleading. The federal government requires that a portion of stimulus money for child care be spent on programs like this—quality improvement. As much as they may have wanted to, DCD was not allowed by federal guidelines to spend it to help working families pay for child care. While we agree... that much more needs to be done to help families, it is blatantly wrong to suggest this funding could have been used for other purposes. Doing so would have put all of the child care funding provided by the stimulus funds in jeopardy. What's your reaction?Read More

That makes it harder for you to continue your education so that your children will not be on foodstamps b/c childcare in wake county is very exsepensive
