Smithsonian Education In this award winning documentary, filmmaker Katrina Browne discovers that her New England ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. She and nine relatives retrace the Triangle Trade, uncovering the vast extent of Northern complicity in slavery, and gaining fresh perspectives on the black/white d...ivide. The film premiered at Sundance and aired on PBS/POV. After the film screening, participants and guest panelists will discuss challenges and strategies for teaching about slavery in the K-12 classroom.
