Jerry Peterson

Jerry Peterson I need some tech support help. I have a T-Bucket project and I'm wondering how am I supposed to attach the budget hinges Part # 91652820 to my body to hang the doors? It had some very week cabinet style hinges on it originally, but it really needs something stronger and intended for the application. I think the budgets... will work, if I can figure out how to attach them? Glass them in or what? Suggestions? Here's a pic of the car before disassembly.

Hi Jerry, our techs recommend building a hardwood door frame out of oak and routering it so the hinges set flush with the wood. Then on the back side of the wood frame (opposite side of hinge), mount a 1/8... Ver mais” piece of metal for the hinge bolts to secure onto. This way the wood will be sandwiched between the metal pieces for a secure mount. Next, after you have fitted the wood to the curvature of the body,
fiberglass the wood frames to the body. If you have further questions, please call our Tech Line at 1-800-979-0122 and ask for Chris. Happy wrenching!

Awesome, that's a lot more helpful. I couldn't figure out how to attach

these things without blowing holes through the doors. The wood makes it

easy. Thanks

Shane Jones

Shane Jones Says hi to all at speedway motors . I posted a question on your email about the 2 different gaskets sets you get for my flat head . From looking at the pictures on your web sight , you can't see what the difference is . I know that there are 2 different year model gasket sets . I don't now what year model my flat head ...is . Please could you tell me what the differenc is , as I'm in south Africa and if I order the wrong set then that would be a wast of money . My motor is a 24 stud & has a 3 3/16" bore & the timing covet has 2 bolts that bolt the distributor on to the timing cover .

Hi Shane, sounds like you have an early-style flathead ('39-'48). Early flatheads have the water outlets cast as part of the head, and they also have a low front mount distributor. Late flatheads have removable water outlets and top right-hand mounted distributors. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1939-48-GRAPHTITE-BIG-BORE-HEAD-GASKETS,7106.html
