I'm so delighted that the Charlottesville/Richmond area hoop communities have continued to grow in numbers and progress with dedication. To that end, I look so forward to sharing my Expansion Intermediate/Advanced workshop with y'all. I've got lots of yummy moves and exercises to share.
Topics addressed: Isolation varia...tions, musicality in conjunction with different hoop techniques, Anti-spin, Plane Bending, Power Breaks, Wobbles, Foot Hooping (to free your body), and Single Leg Hooping: entrances-poses-exits.
If we have time, I will be happy to entertain requested moves during the ending 'jam' portion.
This workshop is geared towards experienced hoopers, those who have a solid foundation in the basics. Those in doubt as to how solid their foundation is but still wish to take part should come prepared to push themselves, light-heartedly laugh, and be open to absorbing things mentally that their body may not yet be ready to do. All are welcome who are okay with this ;)

I'm passing through Charlottesville once again and the lovely Anne Bedarf has encouraged me to offer a beginner workshop along with a more intermediate/advanced one, as the community there continues to grow. So, if you'd like to learn to hoop or need to polish those foundational skills, please join me for an intensive ...workshop in the art of hoop dance.
We'll begin on the core with exercises to familiarize you with the rhythm and 'window of opportunity' of your hoop, stalling technique, angle hooping, and then move to methods for expanding our comfort zone up to the chest and down to the knees. We'll then learn 2 different ways to lift the hoop off the body, plus variations.
Individual instruction on requested moves/techniques will be provided during the ending jam and is dependent on the time remaining. Hoops are provided for use and for sale.

Spiral had the most amazingly expressive Flow while hooping to Bob Dylan's 'Time Out of Mind' on vinyl last night.
Spiral is so inspired and excited by working with Rich and Lauren on Hoop Technique, very blessed to have such simpatico flow in collaboration. Exciting times!
Spiral rocked it tonight. Second time performing all three new acts: fabric, lyra and acrobatic hoopdance all in one show. Exciting, demanding, empowering.
Spiral will be performing all three of my new acts with 2 of my performance mentors tomorrow night as part of a school fundraiser. Special times~
