I am very happy for you; it's wonderful news. I was trying to post my congratulations on your blog but my post disappeared; just as I thought my dreams had. But I have new dreams since I discovered Spoonflower. I now dream of becoming a professional fabric designer. I do indeed stay up at night; way too late I might add; working on my designs. So, hurray for you, your lovely designs and your success as a designer; hurray for Spoonflower, and hurray for dreams.

Saw the comment about whether Spoonflower should allow store-bought patterns to be scanned and used for the children's clothing contest. I think that could be a potential copy-write infringement. But I think it would be OK to use free templates; people study for a couple of years, at least, to learn how to draw patterns to make clothes. Fitting ... Read Morearmholes, and crotches, and such is not easy. It would be better to allow templates that to have a fabric win and then have the folks who buy it discover it won't make up right because the person who did it didn't understand the process of pattern making.

I design fabrics for the dark arts and craftist. I am inspired by the rockabilly, goth and tattoo cultures. I make computer games for a living so I'm also into geekery. Some handmade items made from my fabrics can be found at my Etsy store.
