Client Case Study

Vote Yes Minnesota is an initiative for the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment in the Minnesota 2008 election that will offer tremendous help to protect natural areas, including our many forests, parks and trails that both Minnesotans and our tourists enjoy so much. This amendment is for funds to protect over 1 million acres of wooded lands, natural areas and farmland that will be lost over the next 25 years to growth.

Main Objective

Increase awareness of the campaign and encourage voters to support the amendment.

Project Summary

Spyder Trap was challenged with pulling together a strategic online marketing plan aimed at targeting the 18-30 drop-off voter demographic. Our tactics included: search engine optimization, sponsored search, web development, social media, email marketing and banner advertising. Our overall goal was to gain as much awareness for the amendment as possible and to inform potential voters of the issues involved.

The Result?

The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment passed with 59% of the vote! This goes to show that even in a difficult economy, Minnesota voters approved a sales tax increase to protect the wilderness they know and love.
