I say we stop celebrating Youtube and get some commercials on TV. the other companies are killing us when it comes to branding, advertising, and getting the word out. State Farm Agents work hard and need the support of the comany... advertise on regular channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and CNN... not just ESPN

Connie - I hate that for you and for State Farm! I've been with State Farm 38 years and, if you can't talk to a claim rep, you can always ask for supervisors going up the ladder or your agent should be glad to assist you in any claim by making the calls for you! It looks like they've got the ball rolling tomorrow...

Debbie Vanderberg Very frustrated with State Farm's habitual practice of raising auto premium after the agent has given quote and collected the premium. Tired of receiving balance bills with no explanation as to why State Farm will not honor the quote given by the agent. Time to complain to Calif DOI and look for another insurer.

Just because they don't respond doesn't mean they aren't listening. And the price increase is not always because you have a claim... have you moved lately? Added drivers? Gotten a new car? finished school? And also, inflation is a normal and obvious reason for a price increase. You've probably seen that in your line of work as well....

To answer the questions posed above by Michelle, of course the company monitors their Facebook Fan Page (that's why they created it), if they didn't, not only would they be missing out on connecting directly with their customers, but they would be losing the opportunity to monitor online sentiment about the company. The fact that much of this page ... See Moreis negative (as was my post) should cause alarm for State Farm. Social media is the new word of mouth and it is being taken seriously by companies (as it should be).

There are many factors that can affect insurance rates. The best way to get answers about your individual policy would be to check with your State Farm agent.

Unfortunately, their answer is that they don't know either and chalk it up to "Statefarm dictates that, we're just agents" :( Not very reassuring.. They were very nice when they were trying to get me to switch to Statefarm and gave "the good neighbor" feeling. Now that I'm in, my rates go up for no reason. No thanks! I'm switching insurance companies. :P

Could someone from Underwriting that was familiar with this particular rate increase have responded to this policyholder's concern? Or at least contact his agent and provide this information to pass on to the policyholder. If we are going to use this as a means of communication with our insured's, we need to provide more than vague generic replies.
