“Secrets of Charm,” sisters Estee and Sharon Elkayam started the Secrets of Charm clothing line in 2004. Inspired by their grandmother Helen Pegalis, whose impeccable style and good grace. With a passion for clothing, films and art, Estee and Sharon have created a collection that is a beautiful blend of vintage, feminine pieces with a modern sensibility. The Secrets of Charm philosophy is to create pieces that are covetable and unique, yet still practical and wearable.

Some Odd Rubies is the brain child of Summer Phoenix, Odessa Whitmire and Ruby Canner. The three girls all share the same fashion sensibility as well as the passion for fashion. Their fond appreciation of the original vintage design has taken them all across the country to scour for these fashion finds. Without compromising the authenticity of these pieces.

Shirt Stories: Sarah Kuhn, Teen Vogue

Sarah Frances Kuhn, Accessory Editor at Teen VOGUE, performs with her band Left Coast, featuring David Shull and Lane Lacolla.

Tell us about the band’s look.
I was in a quite a rush to get ready, as I had about five minutes between work, preparing for the show, etc., so I just threw on some jean cut-offs and my favorite Bloch silver jazz shoes with the polka dot shirt. I added red lipstick for some extra oomph; I like to stand out a bit! I also can’t really play guitar in heels, and I like to mix the boy/girl look. Lane and Dave always keep it simple and classic with jeans and shirts, so the Steven Alan shirts are easy for them.

How would you style the polka dot shirt for a Teen VOGUE shoot?
For Teen VOGUE, I would pair my shirt with a great trench, perhaps leather shorts, an armful of colorful stacked bangles and an open toe ankle bootie.

Aw, shoot…Suits!

Fall is in full swing now here in NY (despite 2 days of 60+ degree temps this week…?!) Leaves are shedding quickly now in Prospect Park and people freshly recovered from the crazy Halloween parties and parade are gearing up for the Winter Holiday season. We’ve seen buses here in the city are already advertising for the Rockettes show at Radio City, if you can believe it! Here in Tribeca, we’re psyched for a gift that arrived a little early this year- namely our 1st shipment of Haywood Suits for men! This SA Store exclusive is pretty much the perfect suit to dress up or dress down during this upcoming season of eggnog infused company parties, awkward annual family gatherings, and all-night New Years Eve dance events. The cut is slim but casual with a subtle inset stripe on the pant legs that pays homage to more formal suit styles, but stays low-profile. And the fabrics are amazing- a soft brushed cotton oxford from Japan in Fall tones, and two incredible cotton/wool blends From Italy which have a vintage look and handfeel- classy!

Our East Coast store manager Jake could barely contain his excitement when these came in and decided to take the Haywoods out for a night in the city with a couple of his friends- one of whom happens to be the amazing photographer- Dan Weaver.
