Ken I'm glad my first marathon was such a great one with lots of support from everyone in Memphis. Next year I'm going to be more prepared for the hills! :)

PS: My buddy (who has run St. Jude 3 years in a row) told me there were a couple of hills and that I should do some hill training. I told him afterwards that he didn't tell me that the "couple of hills" were 7 miles long each! LOL

I've never been to South Mississippi before. I thank my lucky stars to have had the training I did in Nashville (and thankful I live here lol). It really prepared me for them. LOL "couple of hills" - ya know what's funny is that a friend of mine who did the half told me that I would love the course route and that it was virtually flat. I'll agree ... See Morethat there was probably a couple of hills that I came across and when I did, my thought "What the hay! She didn't tell me about this! LOL" There was a sign that I saw that said "Hill?? What hill? This ain't no stinkin hill!" It had me laughing. They were right. It was nothing compared to the hill training I did in Nashville! I wish I could do it next year, but I will be finishing up my last semester of grad school.. maybe 2011!

Pete Tanguay Notes for race organizers next year - don't put an aide station on the beginning of a bridge as you did near mile 5. People throwing cups with liquid in them created some ice on the bridge. Aide station workers were very good about pointing this out to runners, but a planning note for next year would be good. Awesome race on all accounts.

Christina St. Jude's was my first half marathon and so proud to have made it my first. I thoroughly enjoyed the course route and walking/running through the campus. I loved seeing all the people and kiddos on the campus. Quite a few people on the campus made a tunnel using their arms for me to run through and as I ran through th...e tunnel, we slapped high-fives. That was one of the best moments for me there! All of the pain and struggle of 7 long hard months of training truely made it worthwhile. I blew my own timing out the water for what my training predicted I would do! Job well done!
