ESPN Classic presents this enduring tale of the International 12 Metre Class. Seventeen 12 Metres built between 1928 and 1986 compete in a series of races off Newport, RI. Thirty-five sailors are interviewed throughout the program. All 17 boats that took part are... also featured in this one hour presentation.
Host Gary Jobson takes you onboard America's Cup winners Intrepid, Courageous and Freedom as well as the "Plastics Fantastics" KZ 3 and KZ 7, Easterner and US 61.
Watch what it is like to race with America's Cup winners Russell Coutts and Bill Koch who share the same cockpit aboard KZ 7.
Twelve Metres get better with age. This documentary demonstrates that this historic class is alive and well.

Over four days, September 16 - 19, nineteen teams from 14 nations sailed an incredibly tight battle. The crews were amateur except for one professional tactician ...on each boat.
For the first time ESPN broadcasts a sailing regatta in High Definition.
"The combination of aerial, on-the-water and onboard videography gives the viewer a unique vantage point," say producer and host Gary Jobson. "The strongest element of this program is the audio quality of the tacticians who wore microphones."
