Thank you for coming to Maine to help us out. I live just south of Portland and am a pastor and straight ally. The Mainers that I have talked to have been blown away by the outpouring of love and support from the Stonewall Democrats, the Log Cabin Republicans, and every other group out there that has taken the time to come and help us in this ... See Morebattle. We might not have won the vote last Tuesday, but we are going to win in the end. Even now, some Mainers are on the ground in DC, NJ, and NY helping to win in those places. As Jesse Connolly (campaign manager for No on One) said, "Stay the course!" Thanks again for your help and your raw honesty about this heart wrenching process.

Michael,

thanks so much for your response. I met some of the nicest and most dedicated people while volunteering with the "No on 1" campaign. I count a 53% vote for Yes on 1 as a win for the No on 1 cause because only a decade ago we wouldn't even dream of such a close margin. I do think that we are on the right side of justice, we will soon see equality, but the climb to that summit will be hard fought. Lets get climbing.
