Margaret Paddock

Margaret Paddock Great to see a company helping research in so many good areas for the earth & quality of life. The nice bonus is they also provide a wholesome product and coupons that are easy to access.

Christina

Christina I can't buy Yoplait or Dannon anymore. I know how good Stonyfield is, so now everything else just tastes nasty.

Just viewed the movie and i'm completely blown away!! How can big companies get away with their policies all the way up to the gov't level. It is disgusting and appalling that we as a people are allowing this to go on!!! Where is the legislation and the strong arm to stop these companies from poisoning people? I am all... for Kevin's law and so very sorry for his family for having to go through the pain of loosing a child to something that could have been so easily avoided. My daughter was hospitalized last september for a similar food born illness and thankfully she survived but it was gut wrenching to watch her in soo much pain. I am thankful that people exist to educate the public in this way. My only suggestion would be to give the DVD away for free in better hopes to reach a larger viewing audience.Read More

To be honest, this movie was ok... pretty informational but could have been narrated a bit better. There is another movie that I was totally blown away by but it was an independent movie that was never allowed to be released. That will change your entire perception of food, period.

Ross I have to admit, that I am completely satisfied with your brand of yogurt. I also watched Food, Inc. and it gives a good view about the industry. I hope that you guys keep your practices considering everyone is in business for one reason. I hope you remain profitable for years to come and provide us with some great products. Thank you.

Mikayla

Mikayla Our son is so cute when he says yogurt. It sounds more like "gogurt." Thanks for helping us motivate him to speak. He is being nourished in a healthy way mentally and physically. We're so happy that we can feed him one of his favorite foods and know that he will not be harmed.

Wendy Taylor Bradbury

Wendy Taylor Bradbury Just want to say thanks for YoBaby! My 1 year old LOVES it. It's great to have healthy options w/o junk for him to grow up on. Keep it coming!!

I just watched FOOD INC with our family. We are appalled at some of the practices big industry takes part in. Also, I am a little concerned about something I have seen. We are loyal customers of your products and have sworn to only buy your yogurt for years now because we knew the integrity that went into each cup.... ...We saw that danone actually owns stonyfield now, when we checked online to see how danone worked out as far as work practices (following the advice from the movie to check out how companies treat the animals, workers, etc) danone is rated a "D" on an A-F system. Please clarify!!! This is the second red flag I have gotten in recent months that your products may not be as pure as they once were!!! We want to be able to keep purchasing your products without a heavy conscience!!Read More

David,

Thanks for bringing up your concerns, and for being such a loyal yogurt-eater over the years. We appreciate it.

Between 2001-2003, we entered into a unique partnership with the French company Danone, Despite owning about 85% of our company shares, Danone has allowed us to continue managing our company autonomously and remain true to our mission. Gary Hirshberg co-founded Stonyfield Farm in 1983, and remains at the helm as CE-Yo. ... Read More

We’re still using the finest ingredients to make pure, delicious organic food. And our organic ingredient purchases are helping to support hundreds of family farms and helping to keep more than 100,000 agricultural acres free of toxic pesticides and other agricultural chemicals.

What's been really gratifying is that Danone has come to appreciate the values of organic, and has created two new organic companies -- Les Deux Vaches in France and Stonyfield-Canada, based in Montreal, as well as investing in Glenisk, a family-owned organic dairy in Ireland.

As for your reference to that D grade, it's hard to address because we don't know to what specific ranking system you refer. Here's what we do know: Danone was on the 2009 List of the World's Most Ethical Companies chosen by Ethisphere magazine.
Ethisphere magazine conducted data analyses on hundreds of companies, and every company was then given an EQ score based on the results of the survey and measured against seven distinct categories. These categories were Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility; Corporate Governance; Innovation that Contributes to the Public Well Being; Industry leadership; Executive Leadership and Tone from the Top; Legal, Regulatory and Reputation Track Record; and Internal Systems and Ethics/Compliance Program.

Other winners included Stonyfield (we're proud), Patagonia, Trader Joe's, and Google.

Each year, the Great Place to Work Institute compiles a list of the best companies to work for in more than 40 countries, and Danone makes the top 10 in the UK, France and Spain. Danone has also been a consistent winner in Fortune magazine's list of the Top 50 Most Admired Companies, which is compiled from nominations of companies business people most admire (tops on that list was Apple).

So, David, thanks for coming to the source and asking what is on your mind. We hope you remain a loyal consumer, and we're always happy to respond
to questions about Stonyfield, what we do and how we do it.
