The numbers are closer to 17 percent some have stopped looking. Health care will run closer to 2 trillion, plus a 500 billion tax increase and another 500 billion in cuts to medicare and medicade and we won't even be close to insuring the uninsured. Should be interesting to see how many vote yes on Saturday if Pelosi calls for a vote. I am sure Kagen will vote yes. Will be interesting to see who remembers that when he is up for election in a few years.

Mark Neumann Folks, You cannot tax and spend your way out of a recession. It simply does not work and these numbers prove this approach is actually making things worse. Record budget deficits are a barrier to economic improvement.

Mark I agree you cannot tax and spend your way out. I support your message. I think it is important to note however that the Republican party put 40 some percent of the pork in to the stimulus and have done a lousy job of keeping thier own pet projects in check. While not quite socialists they sure don't mind spending our money. I would like to see them practicing conservative politics.

I would rather see Thompson run against Feingold. Feingold has a very loyal and vocal liberal following based in Madison and Milwaukee. Most have no idea how he votes and I think Thompson would have a good opportunity to give a conservating spending and philosophical approach.

David, I thing it is for the same reason they endosed John Mcain to run against Oboma. The RNC has lost there way. They have forgotten about the conservitive values. The RNC is full of Rinos and seems to be over run with Progressives

I like your new profile pic. It represents how I feel about the politics of this state. The southern half is blue and the northern is red. It seems to me the liberals of Madison and Milwaukee dictate much of the policy of the northern, less populated half. Just a little nugget of insight. I hope that you can make it to Madison and help return Wausau to its former status as a growing industrial powerhouse.

Fiscal discipline will not equal growth in WI. Not saying it isn't a worthy goal though. But we need a real manufacturing policy towards green technology. The United States is so far behind countries like China who are making massive investments into green manufacturing. I am talking about the hardware for these systems. Not only does WI have the ... Read Moremanufacturing capacity, we also have one of the best work forces for it. Most of the joblessness is attributed to the loss of manufacturing in the state leaving thousands of low-skill workers with no jobs that pay a living wage. If you want to grow the economy encourage growth in the future economy, growth in Wall Street does not equal growth for main street. I would say massive targeted tax cuts for businesses that produce green technology and tax incentives to encourage new companies.

Still good work out there. Found a fun job with decent pay and did not have to even touch my severance check. Some big window company decided to eliminate my position while I was in the hospital healing from the removal of 2 vertebrae from bacterial infection. I lost my jobwhile a bunch of butt kissers remain. Buy Pella or Marvin.

The decision further complicates the race for governor, at least on the Democratic side. Gov. Jim Doyle has already announced that he would not run for re-election, and Lawton had been the only Democrat to announce her intention to run for the 2010 nomination.

Its is to bad that lawton is not running. Because I thing most people would be able to see right through her lies about how there will be no tax increases while she is Governor like Dimond Jim Doyle said when he became governor. What I am tring to say is she just does not come across as a very bright person and Mark would win the state in a land ... Read Moreslide. The only reason that nobody has announced thier intention to run for the Dem nomination is because the the national Dem orginization is looking for that just right Progessive with that great personality to win over the vote with lies.
