A huge night of comedy to raise money for TV show Studio A, C31’s Program of the Year in 2008.

This will be a huge night of comedy to raise money for TV show Studio A, C31’s Program of the Year in 2008.
The event will feature host Dave Thornton with special guests Peter Helliar (Rove), Charlie Pickering (The 7PM Project, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation), Dave Callan (triple J), Tom Ballard (Triple J, 7PM Project), ...Sam Simmons (ABC2 & Triple J), Karl Chandler (Studio A), Tommy Little (Fox Fm), Oliver Clark (6 Beers of Separation), and Tommy Dassalo (Studio A) plus many more soon to be announced.
Details: Tuesday October 6th. Corner Hotel Richmond. Doors 7:30pm.

In September 2008 the first Studio A Spectacular Comedy Fundraiser featured Rove and Hugshey & sold out with over 600 happy comedy fans coming along to support this quality, independently produced program. In March 2009 another 600 packed The Corner to see C31 alumni Hamish & Andy and others.

Studio A is a dynamic, exciting, and fresh hour of entertainment featuring interviews, regular segments, bands, stand-up, & sketches. Studio A kicked off an exceptional first season in October 2008 honoured with an amazing line up of guests including The Premier of Victoria Mr John Brumby, Lord Mayor John So, Rove McManus, athlete John
Steffensen, comedian Frank Woodley, conductor Richard Gill, underbelly actress Kat Stewart, plus many more.
Studio A was also nominated for 4 awards at the 2009 C31 Antenna Awards winning Program of The Year and Best Live Program. An astonishing achievement for a show in its first season. Melbourne made and made for Melbourne, Studio A goes out live-to-air each week & the crew is made entirely of a dedicated group young volunteers who are keen to learn how to make TV and make TV their careers.
