We sacrifice a lot that others might consider necessary so that we are able to homeschool our children! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Successful Homeschooling Awesome article by Sandra Dodd about the amount of time we should spend with our children at each age. She even included a graph!

Occasionally it comes up and recently did again—the question of exactly how to unschool. No philosophical nattering, some folks say; just tell us what we have to do. Of all the things in the world that don't work like that, unschooling must be in the top ten. ...

"If you want to measure, measure generously. If you want to give, give generously. If you want to unschool, or be a mindful parent, give, give, give. You'll find after a few years that you still have everything you thought you had given away, and more."

That part really spoke to me. I need to re-focus my efforts.

Appreciated the challenge presented in this article to not simply pray for others, but to be open to being the answer to someone else's prayer. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this blog! Shortly before Thanksgiving, we too had a chance to be the answer to someone's prayer. Actually our family and a friend's family. It put both our families into new territory- our schedules were off, our finances stretched, our young children's eyes and hearts opened to some difficult issues. But they saw their parents ... See Moreliving out God's love for another family in need. It was probably one of the more worth while ways I spent my time (outside of church and homeschooling) in a long time.

Successful Homeschooling Check out this video of a "roadschooling" family that was recently featured on the Today show. "In a tough economy, many families are trading their houses for RV's..."

www.msnbc.msn.com
Last year, Dave Dudley lost his job as a software V.P. — so he sold his house and took his wife and three children on the road in an RV. And they’re not alone: In a tough economy, more Americans are trading home and hearth for the open road.
