About Larry Mitchell:
“Grammy Award Winning Producer, Guitarist and Ibanez Artist for more than 22 years talking about Guitars and his Career in an Ibanez Guitar Clinic!”
Larry Mitchell... is a solo artist, sideman, songwriter and music producer. As a solo artist Larry’s has released six guitar instrumental records which met with significant critical acclaim. The albums range from mellow acoustic to scorching rock arrangements. In 1999 Larry was awarded the much coveted The San Diego Music Awards Best Pop Jazz artist and in 1986 and 1987 won the New York City Limelight Guitar solo contest. Larry has been endorsed by Ibanez Guitars, D’Adarrio Strings, and DiMarzio Pickups since the mid ‘80s.
As a sideman, Mitchell toured as guitarist for a wide range of musical artists including: Tracy Chapman, Billy Squier, Ric Ocasek as well as being a band member of “the Crunch” (T.M Stevens Bernie Worrell, Crystal Talefero and Tony Smith) Currently Larry has been performing live with 2 time Grammy winner Taos Pueblo Native American Artist Robert Mirabal as well as the much celebrated Muskogee Creek Native American Artist Joy Harjo. Mitchell occasionally performs live with Northern Cheyenne /Zuni Pueblo artist Shelley Morningsong of who’s awarding winning album he produced.
Larry Shares song-writing credits with Steve Vai and Thomas McRocklin on the “Bad for Good” Album and with Brian Hard Groove (Public Enemy) and Bootsy Collins on the song “It is what it is” on Bootsy’s upcoming release. As well as with many of the artist’s he has produced.

A Yamaha Performing Artist, Ms. Chatterton has toured throughout much of the country as well as Europe. She has performed in New York at Carnegie and Alice Tully Hall, was a featured recitalist on the prestigious Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago, and has been heard throughout the U.S. on National Public Radio. She has performed with numerous groups, and tours regularly as a duo performer with both harp and piano. She is a regular performer and presenter at the National Flute Association’s annual conventions in the U.S. As a concerto soloist, highlights include many performances of the Lukas Foss Renaissance Concerto.
Ms. Chatterton retains an active studio where she teaches a wide range of students including those who request professional coaching. She also is highly regarded for her insightful master classes, and she serves as a mentor to music students at the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts. She has recorded on the CBS Masterworks, Innova, and Gothic labels, and has also independently released five compact disc recordings. Of her latest CD, Diverse Voices - American Music for Flute, critic David Vernier of Classics Today writes that she is “engaging our ears and musical sensibilities with a mellifluous tone and articulation that captures the most agreeable aspects of the instrument’s voice, showing its capacity for assertive power as well as its “softer” side--caressing, subtle, tender, warm. Her technique and mastery of the most difficult challenges of speed, breath control, and, yes, intonation, are pretty impressive.”
