The Sunset Strip, or The Strip, stretches 1.3 miles through the heart of the City of West Hollywood from Doheny Road to the west and Havenhurst Drive to the east, but it is more than just a mile-plus stretch of road. The Sunset Strip's history began as an unregulated "strip" of land along Sunset Boulevard outside the City of Los Angeles' limits. (The Strip was incorporated by the City of West Hollywood in 1984.)
