Marybeth Diego

Marybeth Diego Hi, My name is Marybeth and I'm currently a senior and I'm very interested in attending Cortland I just wanted to know if there was a good chance of being accepted. I have a 92 GPA and i have taken one AP course and 4 other college courses at my school as well as being involved in other extra curricular activites that ...includes being a Class Officer, Varsity Field Hockey Captain, NHS member as well as other clubs and sports. I have already sent in my application for regular decision but when is the soonest I will be notified? Also, is there anything else I could do to increase my chance of acceptance?

Stephanie- the classes you'll be taking @ Cortland will depend largely on what you've taken at your previous institution. Depending on where you went, you might be able to find out about how your credits transfer right from our website. Check this link to see if your previous college is listed, and then you can determine what courses you will be ... See Morereceiving credit for, then pair that up with your program in our college catalog to find out what more you'll need to take. If this doesn't answer all your questions, don't worry- once you've paid your deposit you'll receive your official credit evaluation, which will help you determine what credits you'll be bringing in. http://www.cortland.edu/admissions/transferequivalencies.html

Steve- there are a certain number of admissions spots available in the Special Talent program. If you do not qualify for regular admission, but are selected by a coach for this program, you may be offered admission. This is highly competitive, however.

Stephanie Fiore Hi, I'm Stephanie. I am very interested in going to Cortland since my brother goes there currently as a senior and enjoyed his time spent there. I sent everything in for regular admissions but I was wondering if there is any more I can possibly do to help me with getting accepted?

Stephanie- if there is anything additional the admissions committee needs in order to make a decision, they'll request that from you. If you've submitted your transcript, SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, supplemental application and essay- you're probably all set!

John- I'm not really sure what you're inquiring about, but we do have a wide variety of clubs and organizations for students to participate in. One of these is the Outdoor Adventure Club, in which students can participate in all sorts of activities such as camping, whitewater rafting, paintball, and snoeshoeing. Our students also have access to our Outdoor Education Center at Racquette lake, which is a one-of-a-kind facility.
