Sweet Sisters Cakes This cake was made for Samantha's Bat Mitzvah. Obviously a "Winter-ski" theme. What I loved most about doing this cake was that her mom gave me total creative license. That's when I go crazy & do my best work! Each snowflake is hand made from sugar paste and then a handpiped design on each one..making each snowflake un...ique. The pinecones are made of modelling chocolate and the only tools I used to make them were my hands and a pair of very small craft scissors..each one embellished with icing "Snow" and my new favorite edible glitter. The icicles were handpiped and then painted with an ice blue pearl dust that glistened in the light. The "snowballs" are actually white chocolate balls coated in dessicated coconut and again more glitter...I can't get enough of this stuff! Now I just have to figure out how to get the camera to show how much this stuff glistens!
Sweet Sisters Cakes "Baby Block" cakes are very popular this year for baby showers. This one was a collaboration between Me and the Mom-to-be. Ivone pulled her inspiration from the decor in her baby's room including the color scheme... muted colors can have such impact on a cake! As I was making this baby lamb, I couldn't get over how man...y "oohs" and "aahs" he drew from the kitchen staff!

Wanted to share some photos (more to come) of the 5 birthday "cakes" that I made for David Evangelista's 40th Birthday Party this past weekend. The event took place at the beautiful Glass House in NYC and was hosted by Garnier to benefit the NY Food Bank. The whole experience was truly amazing and tons of fun..David wa...s such an incredible host and a dynamic guy! Please donate to the NY Food Bank during this holiday season...there are many people and families in need more than ever.
