"I'm interested in trying to explore what I think is the truth at a given time in my life, and part of the process of being honest is -- in my mind -- talking about the idea that you're watching a movie. You're sitting here watching a movie. And I like that...

I agree with his take on personal truth, that it can only be what one preceives at any given point in their life. Although I'm sure there's room for further discovery on this but will leave it there for just now. I was interested by an interview I saw with Charlie Kaufman and a radio presenter, can't for the life of me remember his name. Anyway ... Would love to hear your thoughts on it, do you agree that the ending is in the beginning?

SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK
I nevertheless enjoyed Synecdoche, New York for its uniquely jaundiced view of the attempt to bring meaning to one's life through art, and I'd wager that the film will look even better a few months from now, seen apart from the hothouse atmosphere of the world's most prestigious (but also...

any other insights other that this? I mean about the movie. We were happy there were a few bright spots out there in an otherwise dreary bunch of reviews.
