SYN’s FReeZA Committee in association with iDEF and the State Library of Victoria is hosting 1UP ‘09, a fun and friendly gaming event that will provide entertainment in an open atmosphere.
1UP ‘09 will be held on Saturday, October 31st between 3:30 and 6 p.m. at Experimedia at the State Library of Victoria on Swanston ...Street, Melbourne.
SYN is looking for all gamers to participate in various tournaments that will be held, such as SingStar and Street Fighter 4. It is possible to register on the day, as well as through the SYN website. If you don’t want to participate in a tournament, there will be many other games that are available to play simply for fun. Game-lovers of all levels, from novice to expert, are encouraged to enter. Everyone is welcome!
Tournaments on the day will include:
- SingStar
- Halo 3
- Street Fighter 4
- Mario Kart
As well as a whole host of games and consoles for the casual gamer!
Pre-registrations are now open, and more information can be found at syn.org.au/freeza or you can email freeza@syn.org.au
FReeZA and SYN share a mutual goal to cater safe events for young people that are both fun and enriching.

SYN SYN are looking for film makers aged 12-25 who have short films to submit for ReelSYN. Prizes will be announced soon (and will be awesome) - but surely it's just an honour to be nominated?

SYN’s FReeZA Committee is hosting ReelSYN for the first time ever, a short film festival that will support and provide an opportunity for budding young filmmakers to showcase their talent.
ReelSYN will be held in November this year and entries are now open. SYN is looking for creative, current, topical, and original mat...erial, produced within approximately the last 12 months. Entries can be about any topic, and filmmakers are encouraged to think outside the box. While the boundaries are broad, there are a few guidelines. Entries must be no shorter than 1 minute or no longer than 5 minutes in length, and must be made by a Victorian filmmaker between the ages of 12 to 25.
Entries can be submitted on DVD to SYN’s FReeZA committee, PO Box 12013 A'Beckett Street, Melbourne, VIC, 8006.
