A few weeks ago, our daughter Adriana, began getting headaches almost every day. After taking her to the doctor three times without finding a cause, we took her to an optometrist. We thought perhaps she needed glasses, and that bad vision could be causing her headaches. The optometrist looked into her eyes and told us... she needed to go straight to a neurologist; both of her optic nerves were enlarged. That night we took her to the All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. After a CAT scan, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor about 4 cm in diameter. The next morning she was taken straight to surgery to have it removed. Two days later, she had a second surgery to remove what they couldn't get the first time. It is classified as a Medulloblastoma, and it is cancerous. Our entire world was turned upside down in a matter of hours. Adriana now faces six weeks of radiation therapy, five times a week, followed by approximately one year of chemotherapy. We do not have medical insurance, and the financial strain is becoming overwhelming. We are holding fundraisers to help pay for her care. We are having a car wash on Dec 5. at the 7-11 at the corner of Linebaugh & Sheldon from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Please come out and help support this beautiful little girl in her battle against cancer!
