clearance prices are based on the particular store's inventory. inventory at one store may go on clearance sooner than another. And the amount the store has affects how fast it goes from 10% to 15% to 30% to 50% to 75% off.

Non-clearance prices are based on a region's prices and taxes.

Neither store has the formula on clearance, the stores are literally less than 10 miles from each other.

Sounds like comp shopping in the area. I work at a store a mile away from another store and their prices are higher than ours. The only prices the same from store to store are the sale items in the add and pre ticketed clothes etc

cause stores comp competitors nearby and to be able to comp to that competitors price that competitor has to be within a certain distance.
