How does this page work?
Hi, I’m Kaol – welcome to my page. This page has been set up to provide information to anyone who is interested in a career in teaching. If you have a question for me or any of the other teachers on this site then please post a question on the wall. This page has been set up in association with the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) so there are also teaching career advisers available to answer questions about the practical aspects of getting into teaching – such as training routes and financial support.

Dee

Dee Hi. I'm from indonesia. I'm interested to teach in u.k. I am doing a B.Ed course here. I checked out the tda website, they have standards that i actually learn in university like how to teach, and all of those materials needed to be a teacher. Should i enroll for another teacher training again while i am also doing a teacher training? Please kindly assist me. Thank you, Ditta.

Hi!

I have been browsing the previous comments on here and am particularly interested in this;

"If you would consider teaching in schools there is a Creative and Media
diploma (14-19) now that you can train for in a PGCE course after a
degree."

I have a degree in Digital Media (photoshop, flash, film, audio and web design) ...and would LOVE to know how to get into teaching this to 14-19 year olds. I can't find any info on the TDA website, could you point me in the right direction??

Thank you! x

Hello. I had started to be an educator, a teacher. But I move to another country thus, leaving my first choice. If I didnn't move, i could still my course BSE major in Biological Science. I really want to be a teacher someday but i think this now is a dream. My parents even tell me that being in the field of education... would be tiresome compaired to one I will be taking up. I really feel satisfaction seeing students learning.Read More

Leilani Jordan-Cortes

Leilani Jordan-Cortes Hello, I'm planning on doing a PGCE next sept but just wondering how these courses are timetabled. I am aware that they involve a heavy workload, but would like to know how much of that is timetabled hours, and how much is study done in own time. Is it mon-fri 9-5? I am trying to decide whether to wait until my son is a little older to train, so want to get a better picture of my average week.

Teaching is a roll-a-coaster like any job. OFSTED is imminent at my school - but I left on the train to come back home tonight loving it. today I had double year 13 biology, a free, then, year 7 science then double year 10 games (ok that was sailing and kayaking - in the rain!) but I work in an inner london boys second...ary school so we have the london docks on our doorstep. The one thing I would say is you get out what you put in - so many colleagues are stuck in their class rooms - be safe - risk assess it - use qualified people, but the rewards for getting out there are huge and the boys love it too.Read More
