North Carolina's Cetera DeGraffenreid and Virginia's Simone Egwu were named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending Nov. 22. DeGraffenreid led the fourth-ranked Tar Heels to a pair of victories against Coastal Carolina and UNLV, while Egwu posted a career-high 19 points early in her freshman campaign for the 12th-ranked Cavaliers.

It was a tough day on the hardwood for the ACC women's basketball teams as only No. 4 North Carolina and No. 13 Florida State prevailed out of six the games on Sunday. The Tar Heels won 78-68 at UNLV while Florida State went on the road to beat Georgia State, 66-53.

The four home teams held serve on Saturday as all four came away with victories, including a pair on Senior Nights. Atlantic Coast Conference W. Soccer. Women's Soccer NCAA Sweet 16 ACCtion: Saturday, November 21

North Carolina goal keeper Ashlyn Harris recorded her eighth-straight shutout as the No. 3 Tar Heels beat No. 19 Maryland, 1-0, in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The lone goal of the game came from senior Casey Nogueira in the 82nd minute of the contest. UNC now faces Wake Forest in the Elite Eight on Friday, November 27.
